Associate weddings are still edited by me

This means the look you’re drawn to - the color, the prettiness, the brightness - is all still done in post-processing by me to make your wedding day look just like what you see in my galleries. If you’ve been following my blog, or any of my social media for the past year or so, you’ve been seeing associate work mixed in with my work (and you didn’t even notice)!

I’ll still photograph your engagement sessions

The fun engagement session insta-stories so many brides have come to love and anticipate are still yours! I only bring in an associate photographer on your wedding day (unless you request otherwise). Since sessions are booked around wedding dates, I’m free to shoot sessions all the time.

Experience Matters

One important thing I always like to note in my inquiry responses as you are considering a wedding photographer: Experience matters. Experience is knowing how to handle technical gear issues or having backup cameras on hand versus just being out of luck. It’s the difference between trying to figure out how to make a dark dreary rainy day look pretty, and knowing exactly what to do to get that done. An associate won’t be learning crucial things on your wedding day like posing techniques, finding the best light, managing a tight timeline, or working with not-so-great weather. In post-processing, I won’t be learning how to edit color casts, different skin tones in the same shot, and I think that’s really important to note because this day is a day you don’t get to do twice!

Under the Jessica Roberts Photography umbrella, you can expect to feel super carefree, comfortable in front of the camera, relieved in knowing everything is managed, and genuinely having a good time. After all, the day is meant to be fun!

who handles what?

With the associate collection, EVERYTHING about your experience is the same as a regular collection with me, there is just an associate photographer stepping in on the wedding day to shoot. Your client communication is with me, planning is with me, timeline building, bookings and payments, contracts, sessions, editing, delivery, album design, it’s all YA GIRL.

Can I trust your associate to be an equal “replacement” for you?

While no one can be exactly me, the answer is still YES! This associate work you’re seeing now looks exactly like how I would shoot. That’s because my associate knows how I would shoot, what equipment I would use to produce the same result, and I know how to edit her images to look just like mine. We blend seamlessly! She’s someone I trust to stand in for my couples.

How do I move forward?

If you’d like to secure the associate collection for your date, say the word and we can lock it down! Your retainer can be paid online with a card, or by check in the mail. Your contract will be sent electronically. You can reach out to me by email, phone, contact form, or carrier pigeon.
